We are less than a month away from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 arriving in theaters but that’s still a long wait for some Twihards. Fortunately, we can make the wait easier with a 10-minute peek behind the scenes that lets you see Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and the rest of the gang hard at work in front of the cameras.
The newest footage from the gang at Collider doesn’t have any commentary included because it hasn’t been dressed up as something for fans. Instead, we get to see actual footage from the Breaking Dawn B-Roll that shows the actors working to bring Stephenie Meyer’s creations to life. Director Bill Condon is on the scene a lot as he discusses scenes with Pattinson, Stewart, and Lautner, attempting to make the best work possible. It has to be a tiring job because fans are expecting nothing but the best so no mistakes are allowed.
In addition to feeling like you’re right there in the middle of the action during filming, there are also some great scenes showing some of the stunts and effects before the CGI guys work their magic. Ever wonder how the vampires run so fast during chase scenes? You’ll find out how that trick is pulled off, as well as having the opportunity to see Lautner tugged through the air by a cable during a fight scene.
The clip gives me a new-found respect for Lautner because he, along with the rest of the wolfpack, has a pretty physically demanding job. It’s easy to joke about Jacob not owning many shirts but the fact remains that Lautner is topless for a large part of the movie, which might not be too bad until you toss in the cold and the rain. Throughout the video, you’ll see Lautner bundled up in blankets or a heavy jacket when off-camera because a pair of shorts and winter weather make a poor combo. The poor guy probably spent a lot of time wishing he really could turn into a wolf.
While it’s not really greeted with any particular recognition, the final scene in the clip might hold a special moment for fans of the Twilight saga because it shows the final moment of filming, and you have to wonder if cast and crew understand the true weight of the words when ‘that’s a wrap on Breaking Dawn,’ is called out. Love it or hate it, the end of Twilight doesn’t just signify the end of a movie series; it’s the end of an era.
November 18th is almost here. Are you ready for it?
