We see movies all the time that were based on novels, and you may think “The book was waaaayyy better,” or you may think, “This is great! They didn’t mess my favorite book up at all!” (or some of us think, “What? That was based on a book?”) Whichever you are thinking, you’ve come to the right place!

Here at Optionated we are going to focus on the world of books that have been optioned to be movies (and television shows or games even). We will give you interviews with authors who have been optioned, and authors who know a bit about the process. We will also be including tons of original content, from optioned opinion pieces to reviews of books to movies.

Sure, maybe you always thought that an ending to a movie was weak, only to find out  that in the book version it ended just the way you wanted. Or maybe that a character in the book you read needed more background information when thankfully the movie version provided that. There is always a chance you read a book and know exactly who should play the characters, only to have it totally misrepresented when the film does come out. These happen to us all the time and if you are like us, you want to talk about it with others who know exactly how you feel!

And at Optionated, we are going to give you what you want, and the information you NEED about your favorite books and movies. (And hey, if you disagree with some our opinions, feel free to respond and show us something we didn’t think of before.)
