Deadline has reported that Paranormal Activity 2 director, Todd “Kip” Williams will be writing and directing an adaptation of the novel, Those Across The River.

Those Across the River is a novel written by Christopher Buehlman. The novel follows Frank Nichols and his wife, Eudora as they arrive in the town of Whitbrow, Georgia. The town is the site of Frank’s family old estate, the Savoyard Plantation. There he hopes to write about all of the horrors that once occurred at the site. However, something isn’t right. There seems to be an unspoken dread that follows all the people who live in the town for generations and that dreadful presence demands sacrifices. It comes from across the river where the ruins of the house stand and it has been patiently waiting for Frank’s return to his family home.

The book was published back in September and Mike Medavoy picked up the film rights. He is set to produce the project alongside Akiva Goldsman.

No word yet on who they like to play the main character, but it seems like its going to be another frightening tale for the upcoming year.
