Mandalay Pictures announced a few months ago that they were going to adapt the novel, Horns, by Joe Hill. But they finally have a director signed on for the project.

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Alexandre Aja is going be directing the horror love story. Shia LaBeouf was rumored to be in talks for the lead role but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

The novel follows the young protagonist named Ig Perrish who has awaken one morning with a suspicious set of horns growing out of his head and new diabolical powers. They continue to grow and he realizes the protrusions are somehow links to the unsolved murder of his girlfriend.

This is a pretty unique story line and it will be interesting to see how the movie handles the novel.
