Remember the fun-filled adventure of Peter Pan, the boy who would never grow up, and Captain Hook, the evil pirate that was in constant pursuit? Well, forget about all that, because you’ll be rooting for Hook in this twisted version of the fairy tale, and former General Zod, Terence Stamp, is coming along for the ride.
Pan, based on a script by Benjamin Magid, puts our favorite characters in a new light. Set in the modern-day real world, Pan is a childlike murderer being pursued by cops Hook (Aaron Eckhart) and Smee (Sean Bean). They’re joined in the manhunt by Wendy (AnnaSophia Robb), a victim that survived who may have the only clues that can help catch the killer.
According to CinemaBlend, Terrance Stamp has signed on for a role, but there’s no word at this time on who he might be playing. If Eckhart wasn’t already cast, I could easily see Stamp in the role of Hook but I’m guessing he probably won’t be a major player in the film… unless he’s grabbed the role of Pan, and that seems like a stretch, even for someone as talented as Stamp.
Look for this much darker version of Pan to arrive in theaters sometime in 2012.
