Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is the film based on the novel of the same name by Jonathan Safran Foer. The script for the film was written by Eric Roth and featured Stephen Daldry as the director.
The novel was released in 2005 and production on the film began in April of 2011. The movie stars Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock with Thomas Horn playing the main character.
After 10 year old Oskar Schell loses his father in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, he goes on a journey across New York to find a lock-box that his dad left him a key to. His journey takes him through the different boroughs and neighborhoods of the city. In turn he learns more about him self and the world around him.
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close hits theaters in a limited release on Christmas Day, and will release everywhere on January 20th.
