The Woman in Black Releases New TV Spot

CBS Films has released a new TV spot for the upcoming horror movie The Woman in Black.

The trailer is crazy to say the least. And based on that I am definitely going to see this movie!

The movie, The Woman in Black, is based on a book of the same title written by Susan Hill.  The book was first adapted into a stage play and from there, it turned into a T.V. movie.

The movie, which is set to be released in February 2012, is a remake being directed by James Watkins.

The cast includes Daniel Radcliffe, Ciaran Hinds, Liz White, Janet McTeer, Alisa Khazanova, Tim McMullan, Roger Allam, Daniel Cerqueira, Shaun Dooley, Mary Stockley, Cathy Sara, David Burke, Victor McGuire, Lucy May Barker.

The plot follows a lawyer named Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a tiny town to attend a funeral and sort out the deceased woman’s papers.  Kipps soon begins to realize there is more to this woman than meets the eye.  Slowly uncovering terrifying secrets, he then begins to see things around the house… a haunting woman dressed in black. With no help from the townspeople, Kipps is forced to work alone and solve the mystery behind the woman’s strange appearances.

It’ll be nice to see Daniel Radcliffe outside of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. (I know he’s done other stuff, but I’m just used to seeing him in is the Harry Potter movies…)  Not that there’s anything wrong with that.  They did an excellent job on the HP series.  I think this movie will be a great experience for Radcliffe and for all the actors involved!

It has been rated PG-13 for the usual thematic material, violence, and disturbing images.
