Courtesy of Relativity Media, via The Hollywood Reporter, new behind the scenes images from Tarsem Singh’s Mirror Mirror have been released. Mirror Mirror is the live-action adaptation of Snow White, but should not be confused with the competing Snow White film featuring Kristen Stewart.

In Tarsem Singh’s adaptation, the wicked enchantress, played by Julia Roberts, evilly schemes for the control of an orphan’s throne and the loving attention of the charming prince. The orphan is Snow White, played by Lily Collins, and her beauty wins the heart of the charming prince, played by Armie Hammer. The Queen, jealous, immediately banishes the girl to the forest where ravening man-eating beats await her. Snow White is rescued by (small) highway robbers where she lives and grows to be a beautiful young woman who is determined to take back the realm from the Queen.
The full cast members include:
- Julia Roberts as Queen Clementianna – Roberts was the first to be cast, because very early on Tarsem Singh wanted an Evil Queen with whom audiences could relate. He stated that in the film, the queen is not evil, but rather insecure. He also revealed that the Queen’s true ugliness may be revealed at the very end of the film.
- Lily Collins as Snow White – Originally Saoirse Ronan was considered for the role of Snow White but the age difference between her and Armie Hammer was too large (he was 24 and she was 17). Collins was eventually cast in the role.
- Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott – Hammer was cast as the prince who is at first drawn towards the Queen and then towards Snow White. He beat out James McAvoy and Alex Pettyfer for the role.

The film is set to premiere in theaters on the March 16 of this year.
