Recently, merchandise for the upcoming film, The Amazing Spider-Man was released and they give enticing clues to the plot of the film as well as a first look at the foe.

Spider-Man’s foe in the film is The Lizard who is going to be portrayed by Rhys Ifans. The project is directed by Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone , Ifans, Denis Leary as well as Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

It is no doubt that the film is looking to profit off tie-in toy merchandise. A couple pictures of the items have already been released and in that a few clues of the films plot as well as as the first image of The Lizard have made the rounds across the internet.

One of the toy sets below is from Mega Bloks and is entitled, “Oscorp Tower FX Battle.” It have three of the main characters from the film, Spider-Man, the Lizard and “SWAT Lizard,” the reveal of which seems to confirm a report from nearly a year ago by Big Fanboy that claimed the conclusion of the film would involve Dr. Connors transforming an entire SWAT team into his lizard-like minions.

The film is set to be released July 3rd.
