The Final Poster For The Hunger Games Arrives

By on January 20, 2012

The Hunger Games is only a few months away now and the final teaser poster has been revealed for the much anticipated film based on the popular novel trilogy written by Suzanne Collins. The poster was released by Lionsgate through the Huffington Post.

The film is going to be the first of three based on the trilogy. It is said that the film adaptation is going to be four films long, most likely stretching the last book into two movies (similarly to Harry Potter and Twilight did as well).

In case you’ve missed it, here is the official plot summary:

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

The film features this all star cast:

  • Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen
  • Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark
  • Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy
  • Willow Shields as Primrose Everdeen
  • Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne
  • Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket
  • Lenny Kravitz as Cinna
  • Paula Malcomson as Mrs. Everdeen
  • Amandla Stenberg as Rue
  • Alexander Ludwig as Cato
  • Dayo Okeniyi as Thresh
  • Isabelle Fuhrman as Clove
  • Jacqueline Emerson as Foxface
  • Leven Rambin as Glimmer
  • Jack Quaid as Marvel
  • Donald Sutherland as President Snow
  • Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman
  • Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane
  • Latarsha Rose as Portia

Overall, I am SO excited for this movie and the new poster just fuels my excitement. It is definitely going to be a huge film and you don’t want to miss out on the experience.
