The upcoming adaptation of “A Wrinkle in Time” officially has its director and it is a fantastic choice. According to reports from Deadline, Ava DuVernay will be tackling the film based on Madeleine L’Engle’s classic fantasy novel.
The novel, which was read by almost everyone in middle school and hopefully every child anyway, follows 13-year-old Meg Murry searching for her father through interdimensional spacetime with a device called the Tesseract.
A Wrinkle in Time the film will have its script written by Frozen writer Jennifer Lee. DuVernay famously directed the critically acclaimed film Selma and recently turned down directing Black Panther. She is also currently working on sci-fi- thriller Intelligent Life and a film on Hurricane Katrina.
There is no word yet on an anticipated release date and the studio has not leaked any actors they are eyeing for the key roles.
