Another adaptation of Frankenstein is about to hit the world, but the good news is that is has pretty good casting. Yvonne Strahovski, best known for her role in the hit television show, Chuck recently signed on for the project.
The project was first announced in 2009, and they are finally ready to begin shooting the project. The movie is, in part, based on the novel, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus which was written by Mary Shelley in 1818. But the story itself is from the graphic novel of the same name by Kevin Grevioux, co-creator of the “Underworld” franchise.
The official plot of the story is as follows:
Frankenstein’s creature, Adam, has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.
So not quite the same as the novel and the films we have seen before.
Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent in my mind) is slated to play the role of Adam, which IS the Frankenstein monster. Strahovski has also joined the project as she ends her run on Chuck.
She recently said in an interview about the role:
I’m flying in a couple of weeks to Australia to shoot another movie with Aaron Eckhart, which I’m really excited about called I, Frankenstein. It’s going to be sort of an action-drama-romance type movie. I play a scientist, and I think I’m changing up my accent. I’m going to be British in this one, which is nice for a change. I’ve been an American for so many years now (Laughs). It’s kind of a modern take on the original (Frankenstein) story. There will be some romantic elements, I think it’s safe to say that much
I, Frankenstein will also star Bill Nighy and Socratis Otto.
