Fans of The Lorax will definitely be pleased with the new television spot that was released for the upcoming film adaptation. The Lorax, also known as Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, is going to be a 3-D film based on Dr. Seuss’ children’s book of the same name.
The project is being released by Universal Pictures. The Lorax is the fourth film based on a book by Dr. Seuss (and this will probably be my favorite until they do a feature film about the Butter Side Up) and this is the second feature film to be a fully computer animated film.
This will be the first Dr. Seuss feature film to be made in 3-D.
Recently, Universal Pictures released the first TV spot for The Lorax and you can watch it below!
The film is set to open in 3-D, 2-D and IMAX 3-D theaters on March 2nd. The adaptation has several big stars providing the voices such as Danny DeVito, Zac Efron, Ed Helms, Taylor Swift, Rob Riggle and Betty White.
The film follows an idealistic young boy named Ted who lives in “Thneed-Ville”. His hometown is completely artificially designed except for the people who live there. In the film he ventures out to find the one thing that will win the affections of the girl of his dreams. When he attempts to find the item he needs, he meets Once-ler, a reclusive hermit and learns of the story of The Lorax. Little does he know that the grumpy creature is also very charming and spends everyday fighting to protect his world.
