Lionsgate has officially announced that they have acquired the film rights to the bestselling novel, “Life After Life.” The novel was written by Kate Atkinson and the screenplay will be written by Semi Chellas and Esta Spalding with Temple Hill Entertainment producing.
The novel follows the extent of human nature and consequences of even the smallest choices. “What would you do differently if you could live your life over again?” the story asks. When Ursula Todd discovers she has the extraordinary ability to start her life from scratch, she finds that even the smallest of choices can have the biggest of impacts. Set against the backdrop of the Second World War, Atkinson explores the challenges and triumphs of one woman’s many lives as she learns to love, to lose, and ultimately to live a life free from regret.
Erik Feig, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group’s President of Production, Gillian Bohrer, Lionsgate’s EVP of Production, and James Myers, Creative Executive at Lionsgate, will oversee the project for the studio. Chellas is known for working on the popular AMC series, “Mad Men.” There is no word yet on when production will begin or who is being looked at to star in the project. More news is expected to be released over the next few weeks.
