Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, recently revealed that the Marvel movie series are well planned out in advance. We already know that they have set release dates for two untitled films in the series for 2016 and 2017 but according to Feige, the plan spreads all the way to 2021.

“I could arguably say what we’re planning for the year 2021,” Feige told WIRED. “Will that happen? I don’t know. But what we planned for 2015 in 2006 is happening.”

The upcoming additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that are scheduled for 2015 is the much-anticipated Avengers sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron and the long-awaited Ant-Man film adaptation.

Feige also spoke about expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe even further.

“Five years ago, looking at our plan, we knew that if Avengers was going to work, the movies had to stand alone,” he says. “Now we have to prove to the studio that we’re more than just these five characters, these five franchises.”

The rumor mills have been swirling since it was hinted at that Marvel is planning to bring more of their comic book heroes to the big screen such as Doctor Strange and The Black Panther in their Phase 3 of development. Both rumored films could be the upcoming releases through 2021 however there is also the likelihood that those spots could belong to a third Avengers movie or another sequel to one of the already existing films.

While the next several years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe aren’t completely confirmed, we can assume they will not be stopping the franchise anytime soon.
