Joe Manganiello Is Officially Deathstroke, Will Appear in Stand-alone Batman Movie

DC has officially cast the character of Deathstroke in the DC Extended Universe. DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns just confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that Joe Manganiello will play the character in the eventual solo Batman movie.

The first rumblings of Deathstroke came in when  Ben Affleck posted a video to his Twitter showing a very weaponized-looking unnamed figure walking slowly toward the camera. A few weeks later DC confirmed it was the world’s greatest assassin and one of the most feared people on the planet.”

In the comic books, Deathstroke has several run-in’s with Batman as the mercenary has been affiliated with adversaries like Lex Luthor and Talia al Ghul. When he isn’t working as a villain, he is known as Slade Wilson (no relation to Wade Wilson also known as Deadpool.)

The Batman solo movie doesn’t have a release date yet but we know that it is coming. In the meantime, check out the video Affleck posted below:
