Jay Baruchel To Star In The Rebel Kind

 

The Rebel Kind is a film that’s being adapted from a memoir written by John Armstrong, better known as “Buck Cherry”.  Buck was most famous for being the frontman for “The Modernettes”, a Vancouver-based band. The Iceman is a film about the life of real life serial killer, Richard Leonard Kuklinski.  He was actually a contract killer for a mob and claimed to have killed over 250 people. (Although when arrested, he was only charged with 5 counts of murder…)  The screenplay was based on the book The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer written by Anthony Bruno. Paradise Lost – To Be or Not To Be?

Paradise Lost is a movie that director Alex Proyas is putting together, but recently began to have some production setbacks.  According to Deadline, they are postponing the production, but not canceling it.  The movie has a star-studded cast lined up including Bradley Cooper, Benjamin Walker, Djimon Hounsou, Casey Affleck, and Camilla Belle!  However, with the film’s $120 million dollar price tag, the project needed to be revised to cut production costs.

Revenge Is Best Served Cold; Atonement With Extra Butter – Written By Robb Pearlman

Ian McEwan’s Atonement, and its subsequent film adaptation starring Keira Knightly and James McAvoy, is one of the reasons that I wrote Spoiler Alert.

About halfway through the book, Robbie, our falsely accused hero, has joined the British army and is trudging through the woods. He passes a rock and then a tree and then another rock and then another tree and then another rock and then—well, you get the idea. I skipped ahead a few pages … more rocks and trees. Skipping further ahead, yet more rocks and trees. A Frenchman or two appear, but it’s still mostly rocks and trees. Robbie passes them; he thinks about them, too, as does Mr. McEwan. I, on the other hand, don’t. I don’t care about rocks, aside from moving them aside for fracking purposes, nor do I think about trees, except that we’re tearing them down faster than they can grow back. Continue reading
