Season 4 has only concluded recently but AMC has already released the first image from the upcoming fifth season of “The Walking Dead.” You can see the image above.

Season 4 introduced the notable comic characters Abraham Ford, Eugene Porter, Rosita Espinosa, Bob Stookey, and Lilly, as well as a modified version of the Chambler family from The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor tie-in novel. Rick and his fellow survivors struggle to maintain their idealistic lifestyle in the prison in the face of threats, including the proliferation of walkers near the prison gates, the outbreak of a contagious and deadly flu-like infection within the prison population, and the spectre of The Governor. The second half of the season mainly focuses on the individual groups that escaped from the prison after its downfall, and their efforts to survive as they follow a line of railroad tracks to a supposed safe zone named Terminus (aka cannibal land.)

Based on the comic created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” is currently in production and is set to air on AMC this fall.

Bravo is working on developing a TV adaptation of a Bret Easton Ellis book “Shanghai.” The story is centered around a group of ex-pats living in China.

Andrew Wang, the network’s vp scripted development and production, said,

“With these new additions to Bravo’s expanding scripted slate, we’re taking our viewers on a cultural odyssey into the debauchery of Camden College, through the glittering towers of Shanghai and onto the elite shores of Martha’s Vineyard to do what Bravo does best — tell compelling stories through dynamic and unconventional characters.”

The project treads into new and potentially rich territory, exploring how many head to China to succeed but often fail when they bump up against unexpected cultural barriers. This ensemble is centered around an aspiring American fashion designer who moves to this decadent city with her ambitious but naïve husband only to be wooed by a powerful Asian billionaire.

The CW has unsurprisingly ordered the comic book inspired series, “The Flash” to series. The show is both based on the comic and serves as a spinoff of their already popular series, “The Arrow.” The network has also greenlit the DC Comics series adaptation, “iZombie.”

“The Flash” stars Grant Gustin as the titular superhero, Barry Allen. In the series, Allen is a scientist who gains super-speed after getting hit by a lightning in a fateful experiment (check out the origin scene from “Arrow.”) Gustin’s Flash will be of course a far younger incarnation of Barry Allen (Gustin is only 24), in keeping with other CW superhero shows like “Arrow” and “Smallville.”

“iZombie” is about a med student (Rose McIver) who hides her undead nature by working at a Coroner’s Office, where she has access to the brains she needs to feed on – brains which, in turn, give her access to the corpse’s memories and voices in her head which can only be quieted by solving murder cases connected to those people.

Syfy has ordered another series for the upcoming slate. The network has ordered a 13 episode season of a mythology inspired show titled “Olympus.” Production begins this summer in Vancouver and London, with casting underway.

“Olympus” is set in the world of humans, gods, and monsters. Just like the Romans always envisioned. It centers on how a few brave men and women banished the gods to the realm of the unconscious: a place they called the Underworld, or the Kingdom of Hades. The series follows Hero on his journey as he transforms from a fresh-faced and raw young man through the dramatic experiences of betrayal, love, disappointment, empowerment and exile, until he emerges a ruthless leader of man and a match for the gods themselves.

Nick Willing will write and direct the first episode. Robert Halmi Jr., Jim Reeve, Matthew O’Connor and Lisa Richardson will serve as executive producers. Reunion Pictures and London’s Olympus TV are producing in association with Great Point Media.

Olympus is a fantastic blend of action, intense thrills, creatures and great storytelling. It will feature characters from mythology in a way never before imagined,” said Chris Regina, senior vp programming at Syfy. “It’s an excellent complement to our roster of programming, and we can’t wait to share the adventures of Hero with the Syfy audience.”

Syfy is aiming to premiere the series sometime in 2015.
