With The Hunger Games right around the corner, and with the knowledge that is going to pretty much dominate the YA scene (as well as my scene cause c’mon it’s going to be fantastic) The CW is jumping on the dystopian bandwagon with their newest pilot, “The Selection”. Continue reading
We announced that the CW had given the Green Arrow the green light less than two weeks ago but the CW isn’t wasting time casting for the show. It was recently reported that The CW has cast Stephen Amell as the lead character, “Oliver Queen.”
“Arrow” is based on the comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp, he first appeared in More Fun Comics #73 in November 1941. While initially throughout his first twenty-five years, Green Arrow was not a significant hero. In the late 1960s, however, writer Denny O’Neil chose to have him lose his fortune, this put him in a unique working class advantage that many people could identify with. In 1970, he was paired with the more law-and-order-oriented hero Green Lantern in a groundbreaking, socially conscious comic book series. Since then added to the revival of comics of late, he has been popular among comic book fans and most writers have taken an urban, gritty approach to the character. Continue reading

The Hunger Games are almost here. Its less then two months away till the adaptation hits theaters, and most of us can’t wait. If you need something to tide you over (other than re-reading the novels in preparation) we have the Hunger Games character posters to help. We have 7 of the character posters which includes: Katniss, Peeta, Gale, Rue, Haymitch, Cinna, and Effie. (Personally I love the Peeta one the best, but thats for obvious reasons). The Hunger Games hits theaters march 23, 2012. May the odds be ever in your favor. Continue reading
There was recently an open audition for the upcoming Hobbit films that ended with police. My guess is the casting call was for extras but when more than 3,000 hopefuls turned up, things got out of hand. When they were initially expecting around 1,000 applicants to appear, they were overwhelmed with the extra 2,000 that ended up turning up. Continue reading

The Hunger Games film adaptation hasn’t even come out yet, but I am already anticipating that I will (hopefully) love this film. I’ve read the books and grown with the characters and (as usual) become very emotionally invested in them. Mostly, when a movie comes out based on a book that I loved, I have hated it. There have been so many times where not only the story is wrong in the film but the casting makes it worse (thats right, Time Travelers Wife, I’m looking at you). The Hunger Games however, looks like the casting for the film is going to be perfect. Continue reading
These last few weeks have been full of “The Walking Dead” goodies like posters, clips and trailers. But this is even better. The midseason premiere is almost here, but if you can’t wait till then, you can watch the first three minutes from the midseason premiere episode, “Nebraska” courtesy of AMC. Continue reading
Courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, a new photo from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has debuted. The still features (from left to right) William Kircher, Graham McTavish, Martin Freeman, James Nesbitt and John Callen. The upcoming adaptation is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, and we have to (unfortunately) wait until December 14th to experience it. Continue reading
