Thor 2 Gets New Director

Thor 2, the sequel to the original film, is getting a new director after losing Patty Jenkins earlier this month over creative disputes.

Marvel Studios recently decided upon a replacement for their sequel Thor 2, and Deadline reports that is going to be Alan Taylor.

Taylor is most known as the director who has being leading the hit television shows for HBO like “Game of Thrones,” “Boardwalk Empire” and “The Sopranos” (for which he won an Emmy) and work on the popular show “Oz”.

Taylor is working from the script co-written by Don Payne.

The project was initially off track after losing the Jenkins, but now seems to be in order. It is still headed for a November 15, 2013 release date.

Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige said “We’re going to take Thor literally to other worlds -It will primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds.”

Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston are currently set to star in the film.
