The upcoming Batman prequel game, “Batman: Arkham Origins” has offered a few updates recently as its impending release looms closer. The game, which is being developed by  Warner Bros. Games Montreal features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline occurring several years before the events of the games “Batman: Arkham Asylum” and “Batman: Arkham City.”

Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, witness identities being formed and key relationships being forged.

Voice actor Kevin Conroy has officially signed on to return as the Dark Knight in the game, confirming his involvement over the weekend at Dallas Comic-Con. The reason it took so long for the confirmation to be made public was because Conroy was under a NDA for the past few months.

Amazon.com has also revealed that Deathstroke will be a playable character in “Batman: Arkham Origins.” The website updated their pre-order incentives for the game with the playable mercenary character. Their banner advertisement, pictured above, indicates a pre-order of the game from the website will include Deathstroke DLC in addition to $10 credit to the website. Whether Deathstroke will be playable in the game’s primary storyline or in the challenge maps like previous characters in the franchise remains to be seen.

“Batman: Arkham Origins” will be available for the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 25, 2013. You can also watch the trailer below:
