First Photo of Aaron Eckhart As Frankenstein Revealed

We first learned of the I, Frankenstein adaptation last year and now thanks to Entertainment Weekly we have the first image of Aaron Eckhart as the titular character. This adaptation is not based on the novel but on the graphic novel written by Kevin Grievous.

In his gothic retelling of the iconic monster story, we see a dystopian world where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein’s creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.

The graphic novel was adapted for the big screen by Stuart Beattie. It stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein.

Eckhart described his character:

“Frankenstein is an intelligent, evolved man, and that’s how he is portrayed in this movie, for sure.”

Bill Nighy plays the film’s villain, whom he described as a:

“Nasty piece of work; one of the angels descended with Satan.”

You can see the photo of Eckhart below. I, Frankenstein is set to debut in theaters on January 24, 2014.
