Walter White will NOT be playing Lex Luthor in the Man of Steel sequel (despite being perfect for the role, amiright?) Bryan Cranston has put the rumors to rest that he would be the major villain in the film series after several publications reported that he had signed a six-picture deal.
“Six? This is all news to me,” he said to Boston.com. “I think that maybe my name is bandied about because I’m known to be bald. ‘What bald guy can we get?’ The reality is they can take any actor and shave his head or put a bald cap on him.”
Casting for the project is still in the works and the major role of Luthor has yet to be officially cast. However, Mark Strong previously teased that he might be in the running for the role of Luthor.
The Man of Steel sequel is currently being scripted by David Goyer from a story that was co-created with director Zach Snyder. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman along side Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. It was recently announced that Ben Affleck will play Bruce Wayne/The Batman.
It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015 with production expected to begin in February of 2014.
