Gale Anne Hurd to Bring Whitley Strieber’s Alien Hunter to Syfy

Whitley Strieber’s newest novel, “Alien Hunter,” has officially been optioned for the small screen. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Gale Anne Hurd will be developing the series for the Syfy network. Hurd is most known for serving as executive producer of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” Natalie Chaidez (“V,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) will provide the adapted screenplay for the pilot. “Limitless” Television Series In The Works

Relativity Television is partnering with Georgeville Television to produce a television series based on the 2011 film, Limitless. The film was produced by and starred Bradley Cooper who is set to executive produce the drama, with the film’s producers Leslie Dixon and Scott Kroopf serving as co-executive producers. Fox 2000 to Adapt D.J. MacHale’s Sylo

D.J. MacHale’s first novel, “Sylo” has been optioned by Fox 2000 for the big screen. Deadline has reported that Thor Freudenthal will helm with a script being written by Marc Guggenheim. The duo recently worked together on the studio’s Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Lauren Shuler Donner and Jack Leslie will produce with MacHale himself serving as executive producer. The Mark Gordon Company and The C.S. Lewis Company are partnering up to bring another “Chronicles of Narnia” film to the big screen. “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair” will be adapted as the fourth film in the franchise. Within the novel series, “The Silver Chair” is the fourth published of seven (it is volume six in recent editions, which are sequenced according to Narnia history.) Continue reading

Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris have announced their plans to adapt Tim Madigan’s 2006 memoir “I’m Proud of You” into a feature film. Christoph Waltz to Menace Alexander Skarsgard’s Tarzan

David Yates and his upcoming adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel, “Tarzan of the Apes” has officially hired on Christoph Waltz for the lead villain role. Waltz, also known as the older gentleman who I am kind of in love with and I imagine us living in a small cottage together in Switzerland while he whispers sweet nothings in broken english, will appear opposite of Alexander Skarsgard in the adaptation. Jennifer Lawrence and Gary Ross Head to “East of Eden” and “Burial Rights”

Jennifer Lawrence, also known as your imaginary best friend, and her previous “Hunger Games” director Gary Ross, have signed on to the big screen adaptation of John Steinbeck’s novel, “East of Eden.” Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer are developing the adaptation with plans for Lawrence to shoot following production on the two-film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

Sony Pictures Adapting “The Finisher”

Sony Pictures have officially optioned the film rights to the upcoming novel from David Baldacci. The fantasy novel entitled, “The Finisher” was picked up by Sony with Matt Tolmach attached to produce. The novel has not yet been published and won’t hit shelves until March 4th, 2014.
