The event will conclude with a special behind-the-scenes look at how the Joker’s memorable, yet disturbing song and dance number was recreated for this feature.

Fathom Events Vice President of Studio Relations Tom Lucas said,

“Fathom Events is thrilled to be able to bring ‘Batman: The Killing Joke’ to movie theaters across the country so fans can see it on the big screen. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment have created an amazing production based on a beloved graphic novel, and we’re honored to be a part of this release.”

Batman: the Killing Joke is based on the graphic novel of the same name.  It takes fans on a journey into the dark psyche of the iconic villain we love to hate – The Joker – from his humble beginnings as a struggling comedian to his fateful encounter with Batman that changes both of their lives forever. Years later, and now escaped from Arkham Asylum, The Joker devises a plan to prove that one bad day can make anyone as insane as he is – setting his sights on Commissioner Gordon. It’s up to the Dark Knight to put a stop to The Joker’s latest scheme and save one of Gotham City’s finest. Following a gripping prologue introducing Barbara Gordon’s heroic adventures alongside Batman as Batgirl, Batman: The Killing Joke stays true to the authentic tale that has held fans’ imaginations for nearly three decades – spotlighting the birth of a Super-Villain, the fortitude of a Super Hero and the punchline that will leave you speechless.

The film will see the return of actors Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising their seminal roles as Batman and The Joker, respectively. Bruce Timm also returns as executive producer. The movie also stars the voices of Tara Strong as Barbara Gordon and Ray Wise as Commissioner Gordon. Benjamin Melniker and Michael Uslan are also serving as executive producers. Alan Burnett serves as co-producer.

Tickets for Batman: The Killing Joke can be purchased online beginning Friday, June 17 by visiting FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. You can find a a complete list of theater locations by clicking here.

Batman: The Killing Joke will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 2. You can pre-order your own copy by clicking here. The film will be available on Digital HD July 23.

Robert Kirkman Teases Season Five of The Walking Dead

The-Walking-Dead-wallpaper-5

With the amazing season 4 finale a few weeks behind us now, fans are desperate for the fifth season to get here. Recently, series creator Robert Kirkman spoke with MTV and teased some information about what we can see in season 5.

“I just turned in the second episode script for season five, and all the writers are hard at work on their individual episodes. We’re pretty much halfway through the fifth season, script-wise. And we’ve already nailed down what our finale is, and what our overall arc of the season is. The back half of the season is taking shape very quickly, and we’ll have all the scripts written by the summer…It’s always interesting the way these things overlap. By the time people have seen the entirety of the season, we’re already pretty much done with the writing on the first half of the next season. We’re always quite a bit ahead. We’ll be rolling cameras in May, so I’m very excited about that.”

The subject of the character Negan from the comics was also brought up, whom Kirkman says they are planning to introduce to the series.

“As far as Negan casting goes, Scott (Gimple, showrunner) and I are always talking about who we would put in that, it’s definitely on our minds, and there are definitely a lot of candidates. But I wouldn’t expect Negan too terribly soon, although he is definitely in the plan. It’s a 99% lock that he’s going to be in the show eventually, so be on the lookout for that.”

Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” will debut on AMC on Sundays this fall.
