According to actor Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen, the more talented of the Olsens, is set to play the Scarlet With in the upcoming Avengers sequel. Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios have not officially confirmed the casting but during an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Jackson confirmed Olsen had indeed secured the role.
Regarding Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jackson stated,
“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, most known for his role in the Kick-Ass films is rumored to be playing the brother of the Scarlet Witch known as Quicksilver. This is also not officially confirmed though Taylor-Johnson has previously spoken at length about the character.
Olsen is currently starring in the Spike Lee reboot, Oldboy.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will see the return of several main cast members as well as new and never before seen Marvel characters. The film will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
