Fox Searchlight Pictures has officially acquired the worldwide rights to Oscar-nominated writer Nick Hornby’s adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s NY Times #1 best-seller “Wild.” The news was announced by Fox Searchlight Pictures Presidents Stephen Gilula and Nancy Utley. The big screen adaptation for If I Stay has officially signed on Chloe Grace Moretz in the lead role. The project was first announced in 2009 when Twilight direct, Catherine Hardwicke showed interest in adapting the novel from Gayle Forman. R.J. Cutler is now attached to direct the film. George R.R. Martin, the writer of the novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire, is acutely aware of fans worries that the HBO show based on the novels could catch up to his unfinished series. They announced recently that they have officially bought the rights to a new young adult novel called “The Young World” written by Chris Weitz.
