It has been quite a while since we heard any news about the adaptation of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s comic series “Locke & Key.” But according to The Hollywood Reporter, Albert Torres has been announced as the screenwriter for the production.

The comic series, published from 2008 to 2013 over six volumes, tells the story of the Locke family who travel to a place called Keyhouse, a New England mansion with fantastic keys that open up doors that give them incredible abilities. Though the building is also home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all.

Hollywood BFF’s Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are heading the big screen adaptation. Torres is most known for writing the 2008 film Henry Poole is Here. He also scripted a draft for a live action Ben 10 feature film.

There is no word yet on when the project will begin production. The studio has not announced what actors they are eyeing to star in the lead roles at the moment.

Seth Rogen Begins Work on “Preacher” Adaptation

“Preacher” is finally moving into production at AMC. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have begun to map out what the pilot episode of the series adaptation will look like.

Recently, Rogen tweeted an image referencing what they have planned for the pilot episode. You can see the tweet below.

preacher pilot

The series is based on the comic series by Garth Ennis and Steven Dillon. Fans were a bit worried about whether the series would stay true to the comic book series when AMC released an official synopsis of the show version as you can see below:

Preacher follows Reverend Jesse Custer, a tough Texas preacher who has lost his faith, has learned that God has left Heaven and abandoned His responsibilities. He finds himself the only person capable of tracking God down, demanding answers, and making Him answer for His dereliction of duty. Accompanying Jesse on his journey is his former girlfriend and a friendly vampire who seems to prefer a pint in the pub to the blood of the innocent. On his tail is one of the most iconic bad guys in print – an immortal, unstoppable killing machine named the Saint of Killers – a western lone gunman archetype whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill Jesse.

But, as you can see from the board in Rogen’s pic, the pilot episode is starting out with Genesis right there at the beginning.

Batman Solo Film Rumored For 2019

batmanbatmobilelightsmall

Rumors are swirling that Warner Bros. are planning to keep Ben Affleck in the batsuit for a while. It appears they may be eyeing a 2019 release date for a solo Batman film with Affleck also in directors chair.

According to a report from Latino-Review, a standalone film featuring Affleck as Batman is being tentatively called The Batman. Due to the production schedule of the Batman vs. Superman film and then the Justice League film, that would put the solo film going into production sometime in 2017 or 2018.

The solo film has not been confirmed by any of the parties involved. Plus fans have not yet been convinced of Affleck’s ability to play the Dark Knight.

Considering the solo Batman film would still be another 5 years away, do you think it could happen or that Affleck is planning that far ahead? Would you be willing to see that film?
