R.J. Palacio’s “Wonder” To Be Adapted By Jack Thorne

The upcoming silver screen adaptation for R.J. Palacio’s recent bestselling novel, Wonder, was first announced last November by Lionsgate and at the time John August was in talks to write the screenplay. Summit Entertainment has officially released the first trailer for Ender’s Game, the upcoming big screen adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Orson Scott Card. The film is directed by Gavin Hood and stars Asa Butterfield, Ben Kingsley, Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, Nonso Anozie, Stevie Ray Dillmore, Andrea Powell, Moises Arias, Conor Carroll, Aramis Knight, Brandon Soo hoo, Jimmy “Jax” Pinchak, Suraj Parthasarathy and Khylin Rhambo. Benicio Del Toro May Join “Inherent Vice” Adaptation

The Wrap has reported that Benicio Del Toro may be eyeing a role in the upcoming Paul Thomas Anderson film, a big screen adaptation of the novel, “Inherent Vice.” The novel comes from author Thomas Pynchon and was published in 2009.
Del Toro most recently starred in Oliver Stone’s Savages, would star opposite Joaquin Phoenix, playing an unlicensed attorney to the Doc Sportello character. Continue reading

Summit Entertainment has officially the teaser for next week’s Ender’s Game trailer featuring an intro by Asa Butterfield and Harrison Ford. The world premiere of the first teaser trailer for Ender’s Game will debut during a Google+ Hangout on Tuesday, May 7 at 1:00 PM PT / 4:00 PM ET. The event will also feature a live conversation with director Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), producer Bob Orci (Star Trek Into Darkness) and star Asa Butterfield (Hugo). Continue reading

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Adaptation Back On With Lily Collins In Lead Role

It was reported last year that the alternative/parody novel, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” was set to become a film. However, little news had been released since then and it appeared the project was halted. The novel, written by Seth Grahame-Smith, was also responsible for the novel and film adaptation, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Now, Variety is reporting that the film adaptation is back on and actress Lily Collins is attached to play the lead role with Burr Steers directing. Continue reading

Natalie Portman Announced To Play Lady Macbeth

Yesterday we reported that Michael Fassbender had signed on the play the titular character in a upcoming movie adaptation of “Macbeth.” Today it has been revealed that Natalie Portman has also signed on to the film and will play Lady Macbeth. Fassbender and Portman were set to work together on Jane Got a Gun, but Fassbender departed the project prior to production. Portman can also soon be seen reprising her role as Jane Foster in Thor: The Dark World. Continue reading

Michael Fassbender Crowned King In New Macbeth Adaptation

No one can deny that Michael Fassbender is glorious and apparently director Justin Kurzel agrees. Fassbender has been added to play the key role of the titular King in an upcoming adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.” The adaptation will be set in the play’s original 11th century setting and has been reported to be retaining the original dialogue of the drama.  Continue reading

James Franco To Star and Direct The Garden of Last Days

Deadline has reported that James Franco has signed on to direct and star the feature film adaptation of the novel, “The Garden of Last Days.” The novel was written by Andre Dubus III and was published in 2008. Hanna Weg, who provides the screenplay to The Garden of Last Days, will also produce alongside Gerard Butler, Danielle Robinson and Alan Siegel.

Franco, who most recently starred in both Oz The Great and Powerful and Spring Breakers, will screen his directorial effort As I Lay Dying, based on the William Faulkner tome, at the Cannes Film Festival. Continue reading
