First Look at Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser in Outlander

The upcoming new television series from Starz, “Outlander,” has released the first official photo of Scottish actor Sam Heughan in one of the lead roles of Jamie Fraser. The series is based on the novel written by Diana Gabaldon. You can see the photo of Heughan above.

The “Outlander” series spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history and adventure in one epic tale. It follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Ronald D. Moore and Jim Kohlberg are executive producers of “Outlander,” which is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television.

“Outlander” is currently shooting on location in Scotland and will air on Starz in 2014.

Three Previews for Episode 403 of The Walking Dead

AMC has released three official new promos for the next episode of their hit series, “The Walking Dead.” The next episode, which airs on Sunday, October 27, is titled “Isolation.”

The episode is described as follows:

A group leaves the prison to search for supplies, and the remaining members of the group deal with recent losses.

AMC also released two behind-the-scenes clips from last night’s episode, “Infected,” as well as one of the most talked about scenes. You can watch all the videos below:

The fourth season of “The Walking Dead ” premiered on October 13, 2013 and will consist of 16 episodes. The series is based on the series of comic books of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, andCharlie Adlard; it was developed for television by Frank Darabont, and is executive produced by Kirkman, Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, and Gale Anne Hurd. Gimple assumed the role of showrunner after the departure of Glen Mazzara at the conclusion of the previous season. The season introduces the notable comic characters Abraham Ford, Eugene Porter, Rosita Espinosa, and Bob Stookey.

The fourth season features nine actors receiving opening credits billing, all returning from the previous season. Melissa McBride and Scott Wilson are added to the opening credits, after previously being credited as “also starring”. Emily Kinney, Chad Coleman and Sonequa Martin-Green are promoted from recurring status, and Larry Gilliard, Jr. joins the main cast, but are all credited as “also starring”.

Gale Anne Hurd to Bring Whitley Strieber’s Alien Hunter to Syfy

Whitley Strieber’s newest novel, “Alien Hunter,” has officially been optioned for the small screen. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Gale Anne Hurd will be developing the series for the Syfy network. Hurd is most known for serving as executive producer of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” Natalie Chaidez (“V,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) will provide the adapted screenplay for the pilot. “Limitless” Television Series In The Works

Relativity Television is partnering with Georgeville Television to produce a television series based on the 2011 film, Limitless. The film was produced by and starred Bradley Cooper who is set to executive produce the drama, with the film’s producers Leslie Dixon and Scott Kroopf serving as co-executive producers. Fox Plans Batman-Inspired Series, “Gotham”

Syfy Acquires Supernatural Drama Series “Bitten”

Syfy has officially announced plans to broadcast the Space and Entertainment One (eOne) original drama series, “Bitten” in the U.S. The series is based on the New York Times best-selling “Women of the Otherworld” novels by Canadian author Kelley Armstrong.

“Bitten” stars Laura Vandervoort, known for her role on “Smallville,” as Elena Michaels, the world’s only female werewolf. It also features Greg Bryk as Pack Alpha Jeremy Danvers, Greyston Holt as Clayton Danvers, and Paul Greene as Philip McAdams. Continue reading
