HBO Adapting The Leftovers For Television

HBO has officially confirmed that they are teaming up with Warner Bros. Television to bring the novel, “The Leftovers” to television. The pilot episode was approved and picked up by the network to become a series. It comes from executive producers Damon Lindelof, Tom Perrotta, Peter Berg, Sarah Aubrey, Ron Yerxa and Albert Berger. Peter Berg directed the pilot and HBO has made a commitment to produce a further nine episodes to make up the first season. Continue reading

Grant Gustin Cast as The Flash in CW’s Arrow And Possible Spinoff

A few months ago, The CW announced they were considering developing another comic book based series as a spinoff from their current hit series, “Arrow.” The new show would focus on the DC character the Flash. New Posters Revealed For Lifetime’s Witches of East End

Entertainment Weekly recently unveiled the character posters for the upcoming series, “Witches of East End” from Lifetime. The posters feature Julia Ormond, Mädchen Amick, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Rachel Boston. “Be careful what you witch for.” That is a terrible tagline but these poster are kind of awesome.  Continue reading

True Blood Will End After Season 7

Honestly, I have a love/hate relationship with this series. HBO started off with an amazing hit series that for several seasons was pure gold. However, it has gotten out of hand and I think its classy death after season 7 will be a mercy killing.

“True Blood” will officially end in 2014 according to Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. The final season will consist of 10 episodes and will begin next summer.  Continue reading

Outlander Series Adds Graham McTavish and Gary Lewis

The upcoming series adaptation from Starz and Sony Pictures Television has announced that Graham McTavish and Gary Lewis have been added to the cast of “Outlander.” The project is adapted from the best-selling novel series from Diana Gabaldon. The first two episodes of the show will be written by executive producer Ronald D. Moore, known for his work on “Battlestar Galactica” and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and directed by John Dahl, who has previously worked on “Dexter” and “Breaking Bad.” Continue reading

Michiel Huisman Joins Game of Thrones Season 4 in Secret Role

According to a recent report from TV Line, Michiel Huisman, most known for his role on the show “Nashville,” has joined the cast of season 4 of “Game of Thrones.” However, the role that he has taken has not been disclosed. HBO’s hit series will use the second half of the third  A Song of Ice and Fire book titled “A Storm of Swords,” as the basis for its fourth season.  Continue reading

The Hour of Peril Will Be Adapted Into A Miniseries

The New York Times bestselling narrative nonfiction novel, “The Hour of Peril” has been optioned by The Weinstein Company to create a television miniseries with Brendan Deneen and Charles Spicer attached to executive produce on behalf of Macmillan Films. The novel was published in February of 2013 by Minotaur Books and written by Daniel Stashower.  Continue reading
