Hemlock Grove Returns for Its Second Season on July 11

hemlock-grove-trailer

For some godforsaken reason, “Hemlock Grove” will premiere on Friday, July 11. The Netflix Original Series that is based on the novel by Brian McGreevy, will enter its second season this year.

All ten episodes of the one-hour series starring Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgård, Landon Liboiron and Dougray Scott will be available at launch in all territories where Netflix is available — U.S., Canada, the UK, Ireland, Latin America, the Nordics and the Netherlands. The series also stars Madeline Brewer, Madeleine Martin, Joel de la Fuente and Tiio Horn.

“Hemlock Grove” is a supernatural thriller which explores the strange happenings in a small Pennsylvania town. The show focuses on the unlikely friendship between the founding family’s young heir, Roman Godfrey (Skarsgård), and gypsy newcomer and outsider, Peter Rumancek (Liboiron). Each holds a monstrous secret that has been unleashed.

Season two continues with the town coming to grips with the shocking massacre incurred by one of its deadliest creatures. Roman and Peter are now faced with new responsibilities and the realities that come with adulthood. Roman’s relationship with his mother (Janssen) is all but dead as he struggles with his unwanted Upir birthright and the disappearance of his sister, Shelley (Martin). Peter moves in with Destiny (Horn) and is forced to get a job after his mother is sent away. Meanwhile, in search of a new life, newcomer Miranda Cates (Madeline Brewer), embarks on Hemlock Grove with an unknowingly profound effect on Peter and Roman. And Norman (Scott), still reeling from the loss of his family, must face the harsh truths that are uncovered about those he still loves.

“Season two of ‘Hemlock Grove’ is a hot mix of passion, intrigue and supernatural thrills that come together in mysterious and riveting ways,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix. “The intensity and suspense take things to a whole new level and open doors to a brand new chapter that our members are going to love.”

“Hemlock Grove” comes from executive producer Eli Roth.

“I cannot wait for fans to see what’s in store for season two – it is going to blow away all expectations,” said Roth. “Netflix has been an incredible partner, and whenever we wanted to take the story in a dangerous direction, they encouraged us to go even further – into a scarier, darker, and sexier place. We guarantee you won’t see anything like this anywhere else on television.”

In case you didn’t know, “Hemlock Grove” is THE WORST.

Robert Kirkman Teases Season Five of The Walking Dead

The-Walking-Dead-wallpaper-5

With the amazing season 4 finale a few weeks behind us now, fans are desperate for the fifth season to get here. Recently, series creator Robert Kirkman spoke with MTV and teased some information about what we can see in season 5.

“I just turned in the second episode script for season five, and all the writers are hard at work on their individual episodes. We’re pretty much halfway through the fifth season, script-wise. And we’ve already nailed down what our finale is, and what our overall arc of the season is. The back half of the season is taking shape very quickly, and we’ll have all the scripts written by the summer…It’s always interesting the way these things overlap. By the time people have seen the entirety of the season, we’re already pretty much done with the writing on the first half of the next season. We’re always quite a bit ahead. We’ll be rolling cameras in May, so I’m very excited about that.”

The subject of the character Negan from the comics was also brought up, whom Kirkman says they are planning to introduce to the series.

“As far as Negan casting goes, Scott (Gimple, showrunner) and I are always talking about who we would put in that, it’s definitely on our minds, and there are definitely a lot of candidates. But I wouldn’t expect Negan too terribly soon, although he is definitely in the plan. It’s a 99% lock that he’s going to be in the show eventually, so be on the lookout for that.”

Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” will debut on AMC on Sundays this fall.

“Bates Motel” has officially been renewed by A&E for a third season. The series stars (the impeccable) Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore as the iconic Bates family.

The series, is a “contemporary prequel” to Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho (based on Robert Bloch’s novel of the same name).
