Zack Snyder Reveals Batman and the Batmobile

Director Zack Snyder has officially released the first image from the upcoming film Batman vs. Superman! You can see the image of Ben Affleck as Batman alongside his Batmobile above.

Snyder revealed the image with a simple tweet that said,

“I shot this with my @Leica_Camera M Monochrom. #Batman #Batmobile #Gotham”

Batman vs. Superman opens in theaters on May 6, 2016. It stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Ray Fisher.

Despite the fact that most fans were upset with the casting of Affleck as Batman, the above image at least looks pretty impressive. Will Affleck do a good job with the role?

The film is the sequel to last year’s Man of Steel.

Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons Cast in the Superman/Batman Film

The upcoming Man of Steel sequel, tentatively referred to as Batman Vs. Superman, has officially cast the roles of Lex Luthor and Alfred with Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons respectively. The dual announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

Zach Snyder, the film’s director said,

“Lex Luthor is often considered the most notorious of Superman’s rivals, his unsavory reputation preceding him since 1940. What’s great about Lex is that he exists beyond the confines of the stereotypical nefarious villain. He’s a complicated and sophisticated character whose intellect, wealth and prominence position him as one of the few mortals able to challenge the incredible might of Superman. Having Jesse in the role allows us to explore that interesting dynamic, and also take the character in some new and unexpected directions.”

He also commented on the casting of Alfred saying,

“As everyone knows, Alfred is Bruce Wayne’s most trusted friend, ally and mentor, a noble guardian and father figure. He is an absolutely critical element in the intricate infrastructure that allows Bruce Wayne to transform himself into Batman. It is an honor to have such an amazingly seasoned and gifted actor as Jeremy taking on the important role of the man who mentors and guides the guarded and nearly impervious façade that encapsulates Bruce Wayne.”

Snyder’s film stars Henry Cavill, reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince. The film also reunites Man of Steel stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

Batman vs. Superman is set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016.

Warner Bros. Pictures Pushes Batman vs. Superman Back to 2016

Unfortunately we won’t get to see the epic struggle between Batman and Superman until 2016. Warner Bros. Pictures announced last week that the release f Zack Snyder’s untitled Superman/Batman film has been moved from a July 17, 2015 release to May 6, 2016, the same date as a yet-to-be-titled Marvel Studios film.

The studio said,

“the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story. The decision was made following the shift of the start of production to second quarter of this year.”

In the announcement, the studio also set a July 17, 2015, worldwide release date for its as-yet-untitled all-new Peter Pan adventure. Joe Wright will direct the epic live-action film about the boy who would never grow up, created by J.M. Barrie.

The dual date announcement was made by Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

In making the announcement, Fellman stated,

“We are happy to take advantage of these coveted summer dates, which are perfect for two of our biggest tentpole releases. We share the fans’ excitement to see DC Comics’ most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theatres in May 2016. Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today’s moviegoers.”

Kwan Vandenberg added,

“We know that there is already great anticipation building for the next Super Hero film from Zack Snyder, and we are equally eager to see what he has in store for Superman and Batman as they share the big screen for the first time ever. The summer release corridor is also perfect for Joe Wright’s ambitious new Peter Pan adventure, reimagining the ageless story of the beloved and forever-young hero for audiences worldwide.”

Zack Snyder’s Superman/Batman film stars Henry Cavill, reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent, and Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The film will also reunite Man of Steel stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane, and also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince.

Snyder will direct the film from a screenplay written by David S. Goyer, from a story co-created by Goyer and Snyder. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan and Wesley Coller serving as executive producers.

The film is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, published by DC Entertainment.

The CW is No Longer Developing the Wonder Woman Series

Women super heroes just can’t catch a break. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW has cancelled its plans to develop the Wonder Woman television series, “Amazon.” The show was planned to follow a young Diana of Themyscira.

“Amazon” was initially put on hold in July before being cancelled this year. The pilot was being scripted by Allan Heinberg. This is the second time a Wonder Woman series has been put on hold at the CW. In 2011, a “Wonder Woman” pilot with Adrianne Palicki in the lead was shot but never aired.

Thankfully, impressionable young ladies and various other superhero fans will still get to see Wonder Woman materialize in the upcoming film, Batman Vs. Superman.

There are also rumors that a spinoff film is in the works for the heroine and/or a big screen Justice League feature film being planned.

Batman vs. Superman, which also stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne, enters production soon for a July 17, 2015 release.

Argo Screenwriter Chris Terrio to Rewrite Batman vs. Superman

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the Academy Award winning screenwriter, Chris Terrio, has been hired to rewrite David Goyer’s screenplay  for Zach Snyder’s upcoming project, tentatively known as Batman Vs. Superman.

Terrio is known for writing the film Argo which also starred Ben Affleck.

Batman vs. Superman will feature the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, facing off against Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne. In addition, the film will mark the big screen debut of Wonder Woman as played by Gal Gadot.

Production on Batman vs. Superman is set to begin early next year at the Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac where it will occupy all seven sound stages on the lot in addition to several locations around the state.

The film will also starring Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne and is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015. So far, very few plot details have been revealed for the story however the studio received heavy backlash for the casting of Affleck as Batman.

Warner Bros. Registers Possible Titles for Batman vs. Superman Movie

Warner Bros. is finally looking to title the upcoming “Batman vs. Superman” film from Zach Snyder. For the last few months the collective internet has stuck with calling the feature merely “Batman vs. Superman” since no official title had been confirmed. Now, according to Fusible, an official title is on the way.

Fusible told ComingSoon.net,

There’s been a lot of debate over the official title of the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film scheduled to be released in 2015. This week, Warner Bros. secretly registered a host of possible titles through the internet brand protection company MarkMonitor. Now, it’s likely the debate is going to get more opinions. According to the latest domain registrations, possible titles include “Man of Steel Battle the Knight”, “Man of Steel Beyond Darkness”, “Man of Steel Black of Knight”, “Man of Steel Darkness Falls”, “Man of Steel Knight Falls”, “Man of Steel Shadow of the Night”, “Man of Steel The Blackest Hour”, and “Man of Steel The Darkness Within”.

The Man of Steel sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015. It stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne.

Maybe Warner Bros. will take the easy way out and just keep the name we have been using for months.

Adam Driver Denies Nightwing Rumors

Last week rumors were swirling that “Girls” star, Adam Driver, was being looked at for the role of Dick Grayson in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, tentatively titled, Batman vs. Superman. However, during a recent interview with Collider, Driver denies the rumors saying that he hadn’t heard anything in regards to the role.

When asked if there was any truth to the rumors, Driver said,

“No. Not that I know of, no. If you find out, let me know, then I’ll know.”

Driver also added how nice it was that people were thinking he deserved the part.

“That’s like intensely flattering as you can imagine. I mean, it’s Batman and Superman, who doesn’t want to be involved in something not only of that scale but of who those characters are. That’s an incredible world to be able to be in for a bit. Like who wouldn’t want to do that?”

The original story, which was posted on TheWrap, mentioned that two other actors might be in the mix for the role as well. I hope that this is true because it allows me to pretend that Joseph Gordon Levitt might still be considered for the role. (I know that isn’t the case, but I keep dreaming.)

Batman vs. Superman will feature the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, facing off against Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Also starring Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne, the Zack Snyder-directed film will hit theaters on July 17, 2015.

Justice League

Adam Driver Rumored for Dick Grayson Role in Batman vs. Superman

Justice League

Fans are incredibly curious about what to expect out of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs. Superman. Currently rumors are swirling that Adam Driver is the frontrunner  for the role of Dick Grayson in the feature. Grayson is known best as Bruce Wayne’s young ward and sidekick masked crimefighter Robin (and later Nightwing.)

Driver is most known for starring on the HBO series, “Girls.” He was also seen in the films Lincoln and Frances Ha. He can next be seen in Joel and Ethan Coen’s Inside Llewyn Davis, set to open in theaters December 13. His casting rumor is on the heels of news that three actresses are also testing for the rumored role of Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman.

Batman vs. Superman will feature the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, facing off against Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Also starring Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne. There is no confirmed reveal of what the film’s exact storyline will be. Also a full cast list has not been released.

Personally, I would cast Joseph Gordon Levitt as Nightwing as he had his perfect opening for the role at the end of The Dark Knight Rises. What a missed opportunity.

The highly anticipated film hits theaters on July 17, 2015.
