Michael Bay has reportedly has signed on to adapt the big screen version of Mitchell Zuckoff’s recently released novel, “13 Hours.”

The novel is officially described as follows:

“13 Hours” presents, for the first time ever, the true account of the events of September 11, 2012, when terrorists attacked the US State Department Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA station called the Annex in Benghazi, Libya. A team of six American security operators fought to repel the attackers and protect the Americans stationed there. Those men went beyond the call of duty, performing extraordinary acts of courage and heroism, to avert tragedy on a much larger scale. This is their personal account, never before told, of what happened during the thirteen hours of that now-infamous attack.”

Chuck Hogan  has already gotten to work and adapted the screenplay for the project. Erwin Stoff is producing the film for Paramount Pictures.

Currently, “13 Hours” is supposedly being made with a smaller budget than Bay’s previous films are known for. There is no word on when production will begin or who the studio is eyeing to star.

To be published novel, “Every Exquisite Thing,” is heading to the big screen courtesy of The Weinstein Company. The novel was written by “The Silver Linings Playbook” author Matthew Quick. The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

According to THR, “Every Exquisite Thing” follows a straight-laced female athlete “who starts to get in touch with her wild side after reading a cult classic novel.” The novel she reads is believed to be Oscar Wilde’s “The Portrait of Dorian Gray,” though this is unconfirmed at the moment. Though the novel contains the line “Behind every exquisite thing that existed, there was something tragic.” It seems to make sense.

Quick’s previous novel, “Silver Lining’s Playbook,” was also adapted by The Weinstein Company and ended up being  nominated for eight Academy Awards with star Jennifer Lawrence winning one for her performance in a leading role opposite Bradley Cooper. The 2013 novel from Quick, “Forgive Me,” has been optioned by The Weinstein Company as well.

“Every Exquisite Thing” will be published sometime in 2016. Production will likely not begin on the film until 2017 depending on when the book actually releases. There is no word on any other plans for the film in the realm of casting.
