NEW Poster For JURASSIC WORLD Released!

As everyone is gearing up and getting exciting for the upcoming new installment in the “Jurassic Park” franchise, director Colin Trevorrow debuted a new poster for Jurassic World.

The poster shows Bryce Dallas Howard in her role as Claire Dearing coming face to face with the dinosaur known as the Indominus Rex.

Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar, an island located off Central America’s Pacific Coast, near Costa Rica, now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. This new park is owned by the Masrani Global Corporation. Owen Grady, a member of the park’s on-site staff, conducts behavioral research on a group of Velociraptors, known as Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo. At the corporation’s request, the park’s geneticists create a genetically modified hybrid mutant dinosaur, known as Indominus rex, to boost visitor attendance (despite the creature having cannibalized its own sibling). Claire Dearing is the park’s operations manager. Her nephews, Zach and Gray, are visiting the island when the hybrid escapes and are subsequently caught up in the creature’s deadly rampage.

Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World.  Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly.  Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers.

Alongside Howard, the film features an incredible cast including (my imaginary boyfriend) Chris Pratt, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, BD Wong, and Judy Greer.

Jurassic World opens in theaters and our hearts on June 12.

Judy Greer Cast in Jurassic World

One of my favorite people in existance, Judy Greer, has been cast in the upcoming film, Jurassic World. The fourth installment in the “Jurassic Park” franchise will be directed by Colin Trevorrow, most known for his work on another science fiction film, Safety Not Guaranteed.

Greer is most known for her roles in comedy shows such as Kitty in “Arrested Development” and Cheryl/Carol in “Archer.” She has also recently been cast in a few other upcoming blockbusters,  Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Tomorrowland.

Her role in Jurassic World has not been revealed. However, she will be starring alongside Christ Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, and BD Wong returning as Dr. Henry Wu. Vincent D’Onofrio will reportedly be playing the villain.

Trevorrow is keeping the story tightly under wraps, and has been cagey about sharing even details of some principle characters. In a recent interview with IGN, he noted that Pratt’s character will have a scientific connection to the dinosaur experiments, and serves as a foil for Howard’s more buttoned-down type.

More details about the plot and characters are likely to come out over the next few months while the project moves into production.

Chris Pratt Teases Jurassic World Plot and Character Details

Plot details for Jurassic World are finally being slowly revealed. MTV News recently spoke with Chris Pratt who hinted at what fans can expect from the fourth installment of the franchise.

Pratt told MTV News exactly what drew him to the project and why he joined the cast.

“What I liked about it is that it answers the question of, ‘Why would they do that? How do you suspend disbelief to be like, ‘Oh, yes! Let’s make this mistake again! We haven’t learned our lesson about dinosaurs. We should definitely live with them and see how that works out!” After three tries, they answer the question really well through the script. Colin did a great job of writing it and justifying it. Kind of, in his own way, having fun with that so that anybody who goes in with that question will be really amused the way I was.”

Pratt also talked briefly about his character, comparing him to Sam Neill’s Dr. Alan Grant and Jeff Goldblum’s Dr. Ian Malcolm.

“He’s got a little of both [characters],” Pratt explains. “He’s got a little bit of the Goldblum cynicism, but also the Sam Neill excitement at the wonder and the biology of it all.”

Jurassic World will be released on June 12, 2015. The much-anticipated film is also set to star Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson and Irrfan Khan. It will be directed by Trevorrow from a draft of the screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are producing.

Sam Neill Will Not Be Reprising His Role For Jurassic World

Dr. Alan Grant is like so over dinosaurs. Can you blame him though, really? Sam Neill recently announced that he will not be appearing in the newest film in the Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic World.

Neill recently spoke with The Examiner (via JurassicWorld.org) and said,

“I’m sure it’s going to be great but they don’t need me… I think there’s a whole new cast and a whole new look at things, and I think that’s great. As I said, I’d never say no, but I wish them [well].”

Despite appearing in the first and third film of the franchise, Neill is resolute in not continuing the series with his character.

Jurassic World will star Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson and Irrfan Khan. It is to be directed by Colin Trevorrow with the screenplay co-written by Derek Connolly.  Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are producing.

Trevorrow confirmed that the film will feature Isla Nublar, the island from the first film, and that it will take place 22 years after the events of that film. The film franchise is based on the the 90’s novel series by Michael Crichton.

Return to Isla Nublar in 3D starting June 12, 2015.

Chris Pratt Joining Jurassic World?

Chris Pratt, or better known as Andy Dwyer, is reportedly eyeing a leading role in the next installment of the “Jurassic Park” franchise. The fourth film, Jurassic World, comes from director Colin Trevorrow. If Pratt accepts the role, he will be joining already-attached Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins.

Pratt is most known for his role on “Parks and Recreation,” but has two major film releases coming up in 2014. He stars in both The LEGO Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy (where he looks FIERCE.)

Steven Spielberg returns to produce the long-awaited next installment of his “Jurassic Park” series. Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a draft of the screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley join the team as fellow producers.

Irrfan Khan is also being reported to up for a supporting role in the film.

Jurassic World will be shot in 3D and is scheduled for a June 12, 2015 release. No official plot for the film or production details have been released. However, it was confirmed by Trevorrow that the film will feature Isla Nublar, the island from the first film.

The “Jurassic Park” film franchise is based on the novels written by Michael Crichton.

Josh Brolin Eyeing Jurassic World

According to a report from The Wrap, Josh Brolin is in talks to star in Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World. However, the deal has not been reached at the moment. Brolin can be seen in the upcoming reboot of Oldboy coming from Spike Lee. Colin Trevorrow is both directing and co-writer the film alongside Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are attached to produce alongside Steven Spielberg. The exact plot of the film has not been revealed. However, It was confirmed by Trevorrow that the film will feature Isla Nublar, the island from the first film. Continue reading

Jurassic Park 4 To Be Directed By Safety Not Guaranteed’s Colin Trevorrow

For a while it seemed like Jurassic Park 4 would never happen, however, in January it was announced that Universal Pictures was finally moving forward with the project. Taking a step forward today, they have officially announced the projects direct:  Safety Not Guaranteed’s Colin Trevorrow.

Jurassic Park 4 continues the franchise that was initially based on the 1990 science fiction novel written by Michael Crichton. The novel was adapted by Steven Spielberg and later won 3 Oscars, 19 other awards, and 15 nominations. The book’s sequel, The Lost World (1995), was also adapted by Spielberg into a film in 1997. While the third film in the franchise was not directly adapted from a novel, it utilized both previous novels to create a storyline that had similar thematic elements and overall feel. The third film also used several scenes from both books that had not been adapted into the previous films.

There is no word yet on the plot of the fourth film, but with Treverrow at the helm, there is little to worry about.

The Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment production will be produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley with Steven Spielberg as Executive Producer. The script was written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes).

The original 1993 Jurassic Park will see a 3D re-release on April 5 of this year, also hitting IMAX 3D theaters. Jurassic Park 4, meanwhile, is scheduled for release on June 13, 2014.
