The Walking Dead Season 3 Photos

AMC’s massively popular series, “The Walking Dead,” is almost back with it’s third season and to tide us over till October, Entertainment Weekly posted new pictures featuring some of the new characters.

Season three also holds an interesting and dire conflict between Rick’s group and a new group of survivors lead by the Governor (David Morrissey).

The first photo is of the new character Michonne played by Danai Gurira and Andrea, played by Laurie Holden. As you can see, this is a production shot, as Michonne’s “pet” walker (Thesay West) is wearing blue-screen gloves so that he’ll appear armless in the final version.

The next photo released features Andrea (Holden) and the new character The Governor, played by David Morrissey.

The last photo released shows our group leader, Rick, played by Andrew Lincoln and Daryl, played by Norman Reedus. Frankly they look very unhappy and we can guess it has something to do with the new setting of Woodbury.

EW also has additional cast photos, and a look at the zombie transformations of some of the walkers, including what Michonne’s “pets” look like before and after their walker transformation (which includes losing their arms and jaws). Check that out here.

The Walking Dead Season 3 premieres October 14 on AMC.

Game of Thrones Season 3 Casts Daario and Greyworm

We still have a while to wait till the new season of HBO’s hit show, “Game of Thrones” returns but we at least have the joy of new casting news. HBO has announced and confirmed that English rapper Ed Skrein and UK actor Jacob Anderson have been cast as Daario Naharis and Grey Worm, respectively in the upcoming third season.

This casting announcement follows last weeks news that Rome star Ciarán Hinds was cast as self-proclaimed “King-Beyond-the-Wall” Mance Rayder.

Daario Neharis is a confident and seductive warrior and the captain of the Stormcrows a groups of mercenaries who will help Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) sail into Westeros. The role of Daario Naharis will mark the relative newcomer Skrein’s North American television debut – after the former teenage gang member became a popular UK rapper following his near stabbing death at age seventeen.

Grey Worm is the leader of the eunuch slave soldiers known as the Unsullied. Anderson may not be that well-known on this side of the pond, but the young actor from London has already appeared in numerous popular English films and TV shows such as AdulthoodEpisodes, and Skins.

Like the show’s second season, season 3 will see an large influx of new characters.

  • Diana Rigg (Emma Peel in The Avengers)  will play Olenna Redwyne Tyrell A.K.A the “Queen of Thorns,” Margaery and Loras Tyrell’s sharp-witted grandmother. Rigg will also appear in the upcoming seventh season of Doctor Who with her daughter Rachael Stirling.

New time-lapse video shows how to make a zombie in under 90 seconds

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” is praised for many things including its captivating storyline and excellent writing. But there is one other aspect that makes the show amazing, the zombies.

Previous extra’s of zombies have discussed the process of becoming a zombie for the series. Now, a new time-lapse video has been released showing the world what it is like to become a zombie.

You can watch the video here!

AMC renewed The Walking Dead for a third season on October 25, 2011 after the season two premiere broke cable ratings records. The third season will consist of 16 episodes, an extended order from previous seasons.

It will also see the introduction of two highly anticipated characters from the comic book series. David Morrissey will be playing The Governor and Danai Gurira will be playing Michonne. Season 3 will see the return of Michael Rooker as Merle Dixon.

Season 3  will premiere on October 14, 2012.

Game of Thrones Season 3 Casts Mance Rayder

Fans have been waiting on bated breath for news on who would play the pivotal role of Mance Rayder in season 3 of HBO’s hit series,” Game of Thrones.” And finally our wishes are granted with the news that Ciarán Hinds has been offered the role.

The actor who is most known for his role on “Rome” will be playing a key role in the show and lives of it’s characters. Mance Rayder is a Wildling Leader known as The King Beyond The Wall. He has united much of the wildling clans and has one mission in mind: To Attack The Wall.

Up until now he has been frequently referred to but remained unseen. His first appearance was in the third book, A Storm of Swords, a part of the series written by genius George R.R. Martin.

Fan favorite character Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington, was captured to be taken to Mance at the end of the second series. His role in the wildling society is about to get more complicated.

Hinds is no stranger to the climate of the show. He is a native of belfast where the show’s primary production is based (Thrones S3 is also shooting in Croatia, Iceland and Morocco). He’s appeared in films such as MunichTinker Tailor Soldier Spy and John Carter. But TV fans know him best from Rome, where he was a very imposing Julius Caesar. He recently also had an arc on USA’s Political Animals.

Game of Thrones returns March 31. (And yes I know that is far to long, but we will make do right fans?)

New Dexter 2 Minute Teaser Trailer

A brand new full trailer for Showtime’s “Dexter” season 7 has been released and jeepers, does it look intense. The new episodes kick off on September 30th and it looks like this will be a doozy.

The tagline for the new season states, “Many have met the Dark Passenger… Few have survived. Once you’ve seen him, there’s no escape.”

This new season is picking up immediately after the shocking finale of season 6. In case you some how forgot the monumentous finale, it ends with Deb walking in right as Dexter is making his latest kill out of Travis. There was much speculation regarding what Deb’s reaction would be (aside from general knowledge that she was sure to have an expletive filled response.) Fans had wondered whether she would take him in, or help him cover it up especially with the knowledge that she is in love with him.

Well, some of these questions have been answered by this new trailer. It appears from the trailer that Deb will be helping Dexter at first until his true dark passanger is revealed at least for now. Also his blood slide is found linking him to the past murders that were previously linked to Doakes.

So what the hell will happen to Dexter? He cryptically answers “The only thing worse than not knowing what she will do, is not knowing what I will do.”

Newcomers this season include Ray Stevenson, Yvonne Strahovski and Calista Flockhart. And it is going to be a fun ride.

Game of Thrones and True Blood Aren’t Going Anywhere

HBO easily has two of the most popular series around. “Game of Thrones” continues to be a top performer along side their other series “True Blood.” But many wonder what future do these shows have? Thankfully, HBO executives recently sat down to answer questions while sounding off about the futures of the mega popular shows they air.

Richard Plepler and Michael Lombardo talked about where they see the two hit shows going in the future.

“Game of Thrones,” based off the book series written by George R.R. Martin, is about to enter its third season which will be based on the first half of the third novel, “A Storm of Swords.” The show’s future, however, is largely dependent on the novels.

Plepler offered a conforting statement for those who worry the series will end before the books do.

“As long as he keeps writing we’ll keep producing, and he seems excited with that prospect.”

The novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire, has two novels left still to be written by Martin, however, in case something should happen, the producers of the HBO series, know how it is going to end. This also means they wrote make any major changes to the plot either.

“True Blood,” based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris, is halfway through its fifth season. Plepler and Lombardo seem confident that the series will continue on despite showrunner, Alan Ball, stepping down.

This coming year Alan Ball is taking a little bit of a step back, but I think creatively, they’re still engaged and excited by the storytelling,” Lombardo explains. “As long as it continues to be performing with the consumer, but more importantly exciting the storytellers, I think we’re there.”

HBO definitely seems to know where their money is coming from. Now, if only they would allow an online subscription…

Deadshot To Appear In CW’s Arrow

The CW recently revealed that DC Comics villian Deadshot will in fact appear in their upcoming TV series “Arrow,” an adaptation of The Green Arrow comic series. Canadian actor Michael Rowe will portray the villain in the third episode, “Lone Gunmen.”

Rowe joins Kelly Hu, who will portray China White, and Deathstroke to round out the early list of bad guys Arrow will face.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim (Green Lantern) explained that Arrow’s take on the character would be more faithful to the source material than DC’s last CW show, Smallville.

“You’ll definitely see the red eye piece, which is the most distinctive, iconic feature of that character, and I will say that with no slam to ‘Smallville’ intended, it’s a much more faithful version of Deadshot than the Deadshot that was in ‘Smallville’.”

But, Guggenheim explains, the show will take liberties with the character.

“In the same way that the pilot is a more grounded and realistic take on the material, our Deadshot is a more grounded and realistic take on the character than the fully costumed and masked super-villain that you see in the comics.”

Guggenheim also spoke about why he cast the unknown Rowe in the role in regards to his physical stature.

“Deadshot doesn’t speak much, so he has to have that physicality,” he says.

Stephen Amell (HBO’s Hung), who will portray the Arrow in the series, says Arrow’s relationship with Deadshot will be complicated.

“I can tell you that they are going to be after some of the same people,” Amell says. “Oliver does have a code. Obviously, it doesn’t include ‘no killing,’ as we’ve established so far, but there is a code. I don’t think Deadshot has it. I don’t think he respects his methods, which puts him in Oliver’s sights.”

The plot to Arrow sees billionaire Oliver Queen returning home with after being marooned on a remote island for five years. When he returns he has a mysterious new agenda, and a lethal skill set he will use to fight a war on crime.

Arrow will premiere Wednesday October 10 at 8 p.m.

The series co-stars Colin Donnell as Tommy, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance. Greg Berlanti (Green Lantern), Andrew Kreisberg (Warehouse 13, Fringe), and David Nutter (Smallville, Game Of Thrones) will also join Guggenheim as  co-executive producers.

‘True Blood’ Actress Janina Gavankar Talks Nude Scenes, Sookie’s Love Triangle

HBO’s hit series, “True Blood” is known for many things. A large audience, kinky and not so kinky sex scenes and about a million different plots shoved into every episode. Recently, Janina Gavankar, the woman who plays Luna, Sam Merlotte’s shifter sometimes girlfriend, sat down with Celebuzz to talk about the show as well as its copious amounts of sex and nakedness.

We know that the shifters in the series are often naked. When they change form they have to be so that means both for Sam and Luna, lots of time in front of the camera naked. Gavankar assured that she feels completely comfortable to be naked in the professional environment of the show.

I am. Besides the fact that it is obviously the most professional environment that you can imagine, I joined in season four so by then they had already seen way worse than what I was about to do. Shifters are naked so much just because we shift into other things that we’re not even connected to. I feel like I’m just as connected to my human form as I am to a horse form. So in that regard, the brain space of nudity is a little different for shifters, and that is something obviously I’m very OK with.

To prepare for her nude scenes and/or racier scenes with in the series, Gavankar explained the process of keeping everything professional (even when her mother was in town watching.)

We do fittings for a day of nudity, meaning what kind of nude-colored undergarment am I going to tape to my body to make sure that everybody can remain professional. We have really long work days so you’re in these outfits — or non-outfits — with everybody around you doing their job. On one day, my mother was actually in town — and when my mom is in town I take her everywhere — so she was there for the entire fitting watching it all happen.

It demystified the entire thing for her [mother]. She really got to see how it’s very much work. It’s a full work day and she got to see how professional it really was. She was there for the entire fitting watching it all happen — how we’re talking about sizes of underwear and which color matches my skin tone. It’s really very technical. There’s nothing sexy and therefore awkward because of it. There is nothing awkward about it because there is nothing sexy about it either.

Most of us would probably be mortified to watch a taped sex scene featuring ourselves, but not Gavankar, she explains how the post production crew makes it look much better than it did the day it was filmed.

Here’s the truth: They make us look even better than we do in real life, because were in full makeup. We’ve probably been sprayed tanned, made up and the lighting is perfect with wind blowing through your hair. There’s even a film score behind it and the music makes it even cooler. By the time you watch it, it’s all been cut together so beautifully that it looks way better than it did on the day of the shoot.

Gavankar also let us know who she thinks Sookie should end up with.

I love Bill (Stephen Moyer) but I think she needs to give Alcide (Joe Manganiello) a real shot. But in the very end? I would say Bill. I feel like whenever she’s crying and she’s with him, I’m always more choked up. Maybe it’s just because of their real life chemistry.

Could Battle Royale Become A Television Series?

The 1999 novel and 2000 film, Battle Royale, is a cult classic and many fans are yearning for a remake. However, thanks to the recent release and extreme popularity of The Hunger Games, a film remake is looking less likely.

But, could a new television series be on the horizon?

The LA Times recently reported that the CW has been in recent discussion for adapting the novel into a one hour drama series on the network.

If they do decide they want to move forward with the project, they will need to gain the approval of Takami, which according to Japanese law must be secured before any remake can begin.

The CW argues that the television show could flourish much like the popular series, “The Vampire Diaries” found success despite the Twilight Saga dominating the film industry.

While the talks are only in the preliminary stages, the network (CW) would acquire the rights of Koushun Takami’s underlying novel, then unpack and expand on it for an hourlong dramatic series.

Producers Neal Moritz and Roy Lee had been working on a new film way before Suzanne Collins published her novel series, but the project stalled when New Line operations consolidated in 2008.

Then when The Hunger Games was released, the film remake was effectively killed.

Hopefully a television series can get off the ground. While it wont be ideal to fans who want a film reboot (we can also assume it will not be in anyway as gory and brutal as the film and novel) the TV series could be something to look forward to.

Hannibal TV Series Adds Laurence Fishburne

Actor Laurence Fishburne may be returning to television for the upcoming television series, “Hannibal” based on the prolific film and novel series. The new show will be a contemporary take on the book produced by NBC acting as a prequel to the novels.

According to TVLine, Fishburne, a former CSI detective, is considering the role of Jack Crawford, the agent-in-charge at the Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI who is tasked with tracking down a flesh-eating serial killer. The role of Crawford was played by Dennis Farina in 1986’s Manhunter, Scott Glenn in 1991’s Silence of the Lambs, and Harvey Keitel in 2002’s Red Dragon.

The first season has received an order for 13 episodes and is said that any future seasons will also be 13 episodes long.

The new project was written and executive produced by “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller.

It is scheduled to debut at mid-season, and centers on the budding relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen).

It should be noted that “Hannibal” should not be confused the other pilot based on Clarice Starling that will be appearing on Lifetime.
