Director Zack Snyder has officially released the first image from the upcoming film Batman vs. Superman! You can see the image of Ben Affleck as Batman alongside his Batmobile above.

Snyder revealed the image with a simple tweet that said,

“I shot this with my @Leica_Camera M Monochrom. #Batman #Batmobile #Gotham”

Batman vs. Superman opens in theaters on May 6, 2016. It stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Ray Fisher.

Despite the fact that most fans were upset with the casting of Affleck as Batman, the above image at least looks pretty impressive. Will Affleck do a good job with the role?

The film is the sequel to last year’s Man of Steel.

Channing Tatum Will Star as Gambit in a Solo Film

tatum-gambit-3

Who should play Gambit in a solo film? If you said anyone other than Channing Tatum you would correct. However, that is not the case. It was revealed yesterday that Tatum has been cast as Gambit which will debut in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse right before appearing in his own solo spin-off film.

At the moment there is no writer or director attached to the project though it is possible that the film could be he “Untitled FOX Marvel Movie” which is currently set for release on July 18, 2018. (However, this has not been confirmed.)

The character of Gambit was created by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee in 1990. “Gambit” is a New Orleans native mutant quickly became a fan favorite due to his kinetic energy manipulation abilities and penchant for stealing. The character’s only big screen appearance to date (outside his name being featured as an Easter egg in X2) was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, played by Taylor Kitsch.

Season 4 has only concluded recently but AMC has already released the first image from the upcoming fifth season of “The Walking Dead.” You can see the image above.

Season 4 introduced the notable comic characters Abraham Ford, Eugene Porter, Rosita Espinosa, Bob Stookey, and Lilly, as well as a modified version of the Chambler family from The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor tie-in novel. Rick and his fellow survivors struggle to maintain their idealistic lifestyle in the prison in the face of threats, including the proliferation of walkers near the prison gates, the outbreak of a contagious and deadly flu-like infection within the prison population, and the spectre of The Governor. The second half of the season mainly focuses on the individual groups that escaped from the prison after its downfall, and their efforts to survive as they follow a line of railroad tracks to a supposed safe zone named Terminus (aka cannibal land.)

Based on the comic created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” is currently in production and is set to air on AMC this fall.

Ridley Scott Eyes “The Martian” Film Adaptation

Ridley Scott is looking to direct the upcoming 20th Century Fox project The Martian. The film is based on the novel by Andy Weir which was published as an e-book in 2012 and released in print earlier this year.

The Martian is officially described as follows:

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars.

Now, he’s sure he’ll be the first person to die there.

After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive.

Chances are, though, he won’t have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain-old “human error” are much more likely to kill him first.

But Mark isn’t ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?

Matt Damon is currently attached to star in the film. Simon Kinberg and Aditya Sood are attached to produce The Martian with Steve Asbell overseeing for Fox.

There is no word if Scott has been officially hired but rumors are that he is pretty close.

For its part, Shanghai, also from Lionsgate, is being penned by David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly). The project treads into new and potentially rich territory, exploring how many head to China to succeed but often fail when they bump up against unexpected cultural barriers. This ensemble is centered around an aspiring American fashion designer who moves to this decadent city with her ambitious but naïve husband only to be wooed by a powerful Asian billionaire.
