Glenn Close Joins Guardians of the Galaxy Cast

Glenn Close has officially joined the cast of the Marvel Studios film, Guardians of the Galaxy. Close will play the leading member of the intergalactic Nova Corps according to a report from Deadline. Close, whose big screen credits range from The World According to Garp to 101 Dalmatians to Mars Attacks! is also well-known for television appearances including recently headlining the television series “Damages” over five seasons.

Part of Marvel Studios’ “Phase Two,” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy features a script from Gunn, Chris McCoy and Nicole Periman. It follows an unlikely cast of characters who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. Continue reading

The Finest Hours To Be Directed By Robert Schwentke

Robert Schwentke, the director behind the films, RED and R.I.P.D., is reportedly in talks to direct Walt Disney Pictures’ The Finest Hours according to The Hollywood Reporter. A brand new banner for the upcoming film, Kick-Ass 2, has just been revealed online by Universal. After the events of the first film. The insane bravery of Kick-Ass, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusader  led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes, played Jim Carrey. Our hero decides to join them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist, the role reprised by Christopher Mintz-Plasse, though reborn as The Mother F%&*^r. Evan Peters Set To Play Quicksilver In X-Men: Days of Future Past

Adorable nugget who I want to make out with, Evan Peters, has officially joined the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past as Magneto’s son, Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver.Director Bryan Singer revealed the news via his Twitter feed after news broke from Joss Whedon that Quicksilver and his sister, Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, both have roles in his script for Marvel’s The Avengers 2. Timecop Heading To Big Screen Once More

The popular Dark Horse Comics series, “Timecop” is set to be adapted for the big screen one more time according to The Hollywood Reporter. Universal Pictures is adapting the franchise to reboot it for film with Marc Shmuger and Tom McNulty producing.

“Timecop” was previously adapted back in 1994 with Jean-Claude Van Damme in the lead. That feature version featured a script by the character’s creators, Dark Horse President Mike Richardson and Mark Verheiden. The film was a hit among filmgoers and sic-fi lovers.  Continue reading

The God of Driving Optioned by Dignity Film Finance

“The God of Driving: How I Overcame Fear and Put Myself in the Driver’s Seat (with the Help of a Good and Mysterious Man),” by Vanity Fair special correspondent Amy Fine Collins, has been officially optioned by the film production and finance company Dignity Film Finance (DFF). The novel was first published in 2011 by Simon & Schuster.

Casting is currently underway with the project set to start shooting in Spring 2014. Sales will launch at Berlin 2014. Continue reading
