The film adaptation of “The 39 Clues” series has gone through some major changes since it was first optioned. In the beginning Steven Spielberg was attached to produce and/or direct when it was optioned by DreamWorks Pictures. However, he backed out and Shawn Levy was then attached. The period drama novel, “Empire Rising” written by Thomas Kelly is currently being eyed by Guy Ritchie for a big screen adaptation. The Hollywood Reporter has said that Warner Bros. recently acquired the film rights and hired Kelly to provide the screenplay himself. Universal Studios Set to Adapt Comic Series Day Men

“Day Men” (possibly fighters of the night men while being masters of karate and friendship?) will be making its way to the big screen. Deadline has reported that Universal Studios officially optioned the rights to the comic book series from Boom! Studios for an adaptation.”Day Men” was written by Matt Gagnon and Michael Alan Nelson with art by Brian Stelfreeze. It initially debuted last month at the San Diego Comic-Con.
