Daredevil Casts Elodie Yung as Elektra for Season 2

daredevil

Season 2 of Marvel’s “Daredevil” on Netflix is shaping up to be even cooler than the first one (though that will be tough to beat.) It has already been announced that the Punisher will show up in the second season but it was also announced that Elektra will also appear in season 2.

Marvel revealed this week that French actress Elodie Yung has been cast in the role of the famous female antihero and occasional lover of Daredevil.

Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb said in a statement,

“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity. Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”

The last time we saw Elektra onscreen, she was played by Jennifer Garner in the 2005 film Elektra and 2003 Daredevil.

Yung has not appeared much in America when it comes to film and television save for G.I. Joe: Retaliation. But she is poised to make a HUGE name for herself with her upcoming role in “Daredevil.”

Daredevil returns to Netflix in 2016.

The first official trailer for the big screen adaptation of The Martian has been released. The film is based on the novel written by Andy Weir and stars Matt Damon in the lead role of a stranded astronaut on Mars.

During a manned mission to Mars, astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after being caught in a fierce storm, and is left behind when the rest of the crew evacuate the planet and begin to head back to Earth. Watney finds himself stranded and alone, with only meagre supplies and his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal home, despite knowing that even if his survival is made known there is no realistic prospect for a rescue.

The movie seems to focus on some of the most interesting elements of the book such as Watney’s attempts to grow crops on Mars as a means to survive.

The Martian is directed by Ridley Scott with an all-star cast including Damon, Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and more.

The Martian comes out in theaters Nov. 25. You can watch the trailer below:

The Matthew Vaughn film adaptation, Kingsman: The Secret Service, has officially gotten the greenlight for a sequel from Fox.

Currently, there are no details on what a sequel would entail. Vaughn has stated in previous interviews that he could see a sequel tackling an American version of Kingsman. So it is possible that now that the sequel is in the works officially, that is the way it will be headed.

Vaughn has also not commented on whether he will return for the sequel. However, he has not returned for the sequels of his other films so it isn’t looking good. He didn’t direct the sequels to both Kick-Ass and First Class despite advocating those films be made.

Kingsman: The Secret Service pulled in an impressive $400 million globally. The film was based on the comic book written by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.

Robert Kirkman Dishes On Details For Season 6 of Walking Dead

The-Walking-Dead-wallpaper-5

It has only been a few weeks since season 5 of “The Walking Dead” has ended but everyone wants to know what they can expect in season 6. The creator, Robert Kirkman was at the National Association of Broadcasters Show to discuss season finale and where the show might be heading, especially regarding a key dynamic between two characters.

Note: Spoilers Ahead!!

The season 5 finale saw a reunion fans have been awaiting for years. Rick and Morgan found each other in the seemingly safe city but in a precarious situation. Kirkman said,

“Having Rick and Morgan together, finally, again is a huge deal, and it’s definitely going to be a big part of Season 6. Now it’s a very different Rick and a very different Morgan who are going to have a completely different relationship,” Kirkman continued. “And it’s the questions of how they’re going to interact, how they’re going to work together—if they’re going to work together—and what comes from those interactions is going to be basically the spine of season six.”

Steven Yeun, the actor who plays Glenn, was also present at the panel and spoke about his character’s fate in the upcoming season in the most vague way possibly.

“If I go—that could happen,” Yeun commented. “The way that we make the show, the writers and everybody really want to focus on making things poignant and purposeful and meaningful. So if it were for Glenn to go, then it’s probably going to be awesome.”

Kirkman added about Glenn’s future that they had “a lot of cool stuff” lined up for Glenn in the next season.
