Batman – The Telltale Series to Debut This Summer

telltale2

While we don’t know much about the upcoming Batman game from Telltale games, we do know that it will simply be called, “Batman  – The Telltale Series.” It was also revealed by Telltale’s Head of Creative Communications, Job J. Stauffer that it would be released this summer.

The game will focus on Bruce and Batman – leaving out Bat characters like Robin, Nightwing, etc. However, fans can expect certain series staples such as Alfred Pennyworth, Vicki Vale, James Gordon, and Renee Montoya. The villains of the game have not been announced and it looks like Telltale is attempting to keep that part of the story a surprise for as long as possible.

Similarly to the other Telltale Games, the Batman series will explore what the consequences are of the player’s actions when decisions made as Bruce have a critical impact on his nightly crusade as Batman, and vice versa. Certain key situations will give the player the decision to approach a scene as Bruce or Batman, with consequences for both sides. Certain characters will have a deeply personal relationship with Bruce in his private life, and decisions made as Bruce or Batman will affect their paths towards corruption or redemption. The player’s actions will help shape the Gotham that Bruce deals with during the day, as well as the criminals that Batman faces at night.

The game will very different from previous Batman video games. Telltale has created a non-photorealistic interpretation of the Bat-universe, enhancing engine and technology to deliver a more seamless living comic book art direction. Taking inspiration from the works of over 75 years of artists such as Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, and Neal Adams.

Like some other Telltale series, “Batman – The Telltale Series” is rated M (Mature 17+) rating, and the cinematic approach will feel more akin to an R-rated film.

_1427056834

The Russo Brothers are clearly very excited about the upcoming third Avengers film in the MCU. They are “Accidentally” leaking lots of small details about the film all over the place. Most recently the duo may have let it slip that the comic books character, Captain Marvel will make an appearance in the third installment of the Avengers series.

The Russos already confirmed the appearance of 68 Marvel universe characters in the films so it would not be a stretch that Captain Marvel is one of those 68. After speaking at a Marvel event hosted by the Smithsonian Institute this past Friday, the Russo brothers appeared to let it slip that Captain Marvel will make her big screen debut at some point during part 1 or part 2.

It was also revealed last week that the next Avengers film is no longer being titled Infinity War: Part 1 and Part 2.

Currently, there are still plans from Marvel to make a Captain Marvel film though the slot has been pushed back several times. The production of Captain Marvel was first announced back in 2014, but then had its release date pushed back to March 2019 from July 2018 As of now, no announcement has been made as to who will play the Air Force pilot Carol Danvers.

Less Jessica Jones More Supporting Characters in Season 2

Jessica-Jones-1-1200x674

We got some interesting information this week regarding the second season of the Netflix Marvel series, “Jessica Jones.” The series showrunner Melissa Rosenberg revealed a bit more about what we can expect from the show when she chatted with Nerdist recently.

According to Rosenberg, season 2 will see less of the titular character dominating the show. This will give more of a chance to spotlight some other characters like Trish and Will Simpson (not to mention give star Krysten Ritter a break from shooting for nearly 6 months straight.)

“You have to earn secondary character stories. You have to flesh them out enough so they can eventually carry stories of their own, which is very much what season 1 was about,” Rosenberg told Nerdist. “So I’m hopeful I can at least give [Ritter] a day off in the six month period.”

riverdalebar

The lovable characters of the Archie Comics are heading to The CW. The publisher of the comics has confirmed that a live-action Riverdale series has been picked up for a season.

The series will be a one hour drama written by Archie Comics Chief Creative Officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and produced by Warner Brothers Studios and Berlanti Productions.

According to reports, the Riverdale series offers a “bold, subversive take” on the Archie crew while it looks at small-town life and the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome facade. The show will focus on the eternal love triangle of Archie Andrews, girl-next-door Betty Cooper, and rich socialite Veronica Lodge, and will include the entire cast of characters from the comic books — including Archie’s rival, Reggie Mantle, and his slacker best friend, Jughead Jones.

Archie Comics Publisher and CEO Jon Goldwater says,

“This is a historic moment for Archie Comics – and I couldn’t be more proud. It’s a culmination of my time here, and I’m eager to see Greg Berlanti, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, The CW, Warner Brothers Studios, and the cast bring Riverdale to viewers every week. My promise to fans? You ain’t seen nothing yet.”

The Riverdale series stars KJ Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy, Luke Perry as Fred Andrews, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Ross Butler as Reggie Mantle, Casey Cott as Kevin Keller, Mädchen Amick as Alice Cooper, and Marisol Nichols as Hermione Lodge.

Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schecter, Jon Goldwater, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa serve as executive producers.
