Michael Bay’s Ghost Recon Adaptation Moving Forward

The upcoming adaptation of the “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon” has officially added two writers for the script. Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia have joined the project from Michael Bay for Ubisoft Motion Pictures and Warner Bros. Federman and Scaia were supervising producers on ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels” TV series and writers on Fox’s “Human Target.” They are currently finishing the script for Y: The Last Man and wrote the script for the Zorro reboot at Sony. The Mortal Instruments Sequel On Hold After Poor Box Office Performances

I could have seen this coming. You take something that is nearly identical to what audiences have already seen and they get bored. The generic YA supernatural novel series, “The Mortal Instruments,” that was adapted into a film this year bombed at the box office. Now whether the franchise will continue on the big screen is up for review. The series was written by Cassandra Clare and was touted as the next “Twilight” like blockbuster but so far has been largely lackluster (and I will not apologize for that sweet rhyme.)

One of the more highly anticipated Marvel comic adaptations, Ant-Man, has moved from November 6, 2015 to July 31, 2015, bumping it up almost four months earlier in the year. The film is said to be the launch of

Actor Brad Pitt recently spoke with Variety at the Toronto International Film Festival about the possibility of a sequel to his zombie film, World War Z. Pitt had previously hinted at the idea of the film turning into a trilogy if it performed well in the box office. Emma Watson Returns to Your Voice in My Head

The starring role for the upcoming Francesca Gregorini film, Your Voice in My Head has had a revolving door of cast members. However, International Film Trust’s (IFT) President Ariel Veneziano has officially announced that Emma Watson is has rejoined the cast and will star in the picture. Watson was previously attached to the project but dropped out for a while. Emily Blunt was also attached to star at one point but has also dropped out making room for Watson to return. Derek Cianfrance to Direct The Light Between Oceans Adaptation

Derek Cianfrance, most known for his work on Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond the Pines has announced his plans to helm the DreamWorks Pictures adaptation of the novel, “The Light Between Oceans.” David Heyman (“Harry Potter”) will produce for Heyday Films with Jeffrey Clifford. Marvel Claims They Want A Female Superhero Movie… Just Not Anytime Soon

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is amazing for a lot of reasons. Weaving together a plethora of films as well as an upcoming television series into one world, keeping Robert Downey Jr. working, and also feeding the superhero film thirst that is never quiet quenched. However, there is at least one thing it does terribly. Women. So far in their universe there isn’t one film where the lead is a female superhero and that isn’t for lack of characters. Marvel claims they will work a female oriented film into the universe but couldn’t give us any definitive plans.  Continue reading
